Founded in 2008 by a lone scanlator who, by their own account on the group's Fandom wiki page, started translating and cleaning pages themselves after realizing no one else was going to scanlate the then-current Evangelion manga chapter. The founder calls their first attempt "terrible" but kept at it, and others eventually joined to keep the project going.
