Founded by Izumi (Ian Smith) as the second-oldest scanlation group, growing out of a fanscan section in the e-zine Ryokurin. MangaScreener was the first group to scanlate Naruto, before leadership passed to translator flyingrobot (Stephen Paul).
Signature style
Originally distributed releases as browser-readable HTML slideshows. Shifted focus from shounen toward artistically significant titles once Toriyama's World arrived as competition in 2001.
