Initially introduced as an intensely airheaded, pacifist sweetheart who wanders around space with a bouncing pink "Haro" robot, Lacus is actually a masterclass subversion of the standard anime pop idol. Beneath her bubbly, gentle exterior hides a fiercely intelligent, iron-willed political visionary. Disillusioned by her nation's descent into fascist racial supremacy, she covertly steals ZAFT's ultimate military asset to build a powerful third-party coalition dedicated to ending the war entirely.
