The Lost Agent arc begins by giving Ichigo something the earlier series rarely allowed: time as an ordinary high-school student. He can still sense traces of the supernatural, but he cannot step into the fights the way he once did. Ginjo's arrival works because he offers exactly what Ichigo has been pretending he no longer needs: a path back to being able to protect people himself.
Episodes 365–366
Ginjo's final argument is not that every friendship Ichigo built was false. It is that Soul Society monitored Substitute Shinigami through the badge and never told Ichigo the whole truth about the role. Ichigo defeats him without pretending that revelation is meaningless. The original 366-episode run ends with Ichigo choosing his relationship with Soul Society knowingly rather than because he still believes it is uncomplicated.

Fullbring shifts the power system away from Zanpakutō releases and into attachments to physical objects. Ichigo's Substitute Shinigami badge becomes the focus of his training, which is fitting: the object that once proved his connection to Soul Society becomes the tool for rebuilding power without Soul Society. The arc feels smaller than Aizen's war because the threat is aimed directly at Ichigo's identity rather than the fate of multiple worlds.
