The Breakdown
Inuyasha carried Kikyo to Mount Azusa to retrieve a sacred purification bow. Though they cleansed her soul, the miasma damage to her clay shell was fatal. Kikyo died peacefully in Inuyasha's arms under the moonlight as her soul collectors carried her spirit away.
