YOSHIYUKI TERADA

Sakura's homeroom teacher is a calm, dependable adult who supervises the class through school trips, sports days and the ordinary chaos surrounding Tomoeda Elementary. The anime also retains a softened version of the manga's romantic subplot involving his student Rika Sasaki, including moments where her feelings are clearly reciprocated. The adaptation avoids some of the manga's strongest implications, but the age and teacher-student power difference remain visible. It is a genuine part of the original series rather than something later fandom invented, and one of the aspects that can land very differently with contemporary audiences.
