She does not join the Bebop through a sentimental invitation. Like almost everybody on the ship, she simply keeps ending up there until temporary proximity starts looking like a crew.

Jupiter Jazz makes the show's recurring pattern explicit. Looking backward gives the characters direction, but it rarely gives them peace.

Why it matters
The search finally gives Faye evidence of a life before the person she remembers being, but the message cannot tell her how to return to it. The most valuable thing delivered to the Bebop has no bounty attached to it.
